Zubotta is an album that almost got away. Its origins date back many years, from the mind of acclaimed Vancouver musician, Jesse Zubot, and has taken some time to get released. Since Jesse was primarily known for his trademark violin playing with roots act Zubot & Dawson, it may be a little bizarre to some that this album consists of intensely focused and somewhat aggressive, yet humorous, electronic music. Zubotta comes from years of twinkling in a home studio. During the making of this recording, inspiration came from artists such as Autechre, Tricky, Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, David Holmes, Nine Inch Nails, Howie B and Steve Reich.

Jesse Zubot's skill as a musician/producer is shown through this list of diverse artists with whom he has recorded and performed: Kinnie Starr, Radiogram, Gil Scott-Heron, OX, the Buttless Chaps, Kid Koala, Dylan van der Schyff, Veda Hille, Kelly Joe Phelps, Francois Houle, Great Uncles of the Revolution, Eugene Chadbourne, The Be Good Tanyas, Ford Pier, LaConnor, Jen Paches, Secret Mommy & many more.
